I started by plugging the printer into a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro to install the software that allows you to setup your wireless. I had issue setting this up on both wirless and usb. I have had many HP printers during my time and this printer had the most issues being setup. Click 'next' until you get to the 'Wireless Discover Method' screen 2. The P1102 is priced right, and works well once you have it setup. This software is located on the start bar under programs -> HP -> HP Laserjet Professional P1100 Series -> Wireless Configuration. ( can be different routers, but if its the same SSID name ) and have to manually change it to get it to connect Next, run the 'HP Wireless Configuration' utility from the USB attached Windows workstation. Select or type in whatever your SSID is, and below that you will see a drop down box with security type and Password.ĭelete whatever PW is there and put in correct PW.įor some reason it seems that the printer will keep trying to use the Previous SSID PW regardless if you put Manual or not if it is an SSID " NAME " that you have connected to before. Toward the bottom you will see an area with Currently connected SSID, and Avaliable SSID's ( in my case because i was switching Routers, w same SSID but Different PW it was already there.

The users with another operating system like MAC OS will have to download HP LaserJet Pro P1102w driver from HP support pages. But HP smart install works with Windows only. I have had it installed on windows 8.1, but cannot find it for windows 10. Additionally, you can plug and print with HP Smart Install, which is fast and straightforward to process. I have installed the full software solution from HP website, but the wireless configuration utility seems to be missing. " printer was unable to communicate with any wireless router or AP Point "īack out of the configuration screen until presented with the following optionsĪt the bottom there is a link to connect to the Products Internal Web site ( this is the Printers built in web server Then you can download files to install HP P1102w.

When trying to setup the printer on a wireless network ( from changing router, SSID Password, bla bla ), presented with the following error

Putting this here for Future reference and in case others are/will have the same issue as well as a possible fix ( it worked for me )
